Obama and The Antichrist Prophecy.

The meteoric rise of Barack Obama`s popularity and political power not only surprised many Americans but the world as well.Not only was he a one term senator but his obvious lack of government experience and young age made his presidential aspirations seem impossible at first.To make matters worse his middle name is Hussein(an obvious Arabic/muslim name) and his first name rhymes with Osama.It would seem in a post 9/11 America Mr.Obama would have a hard time running for local city council office leave alone the United states presidency.Yet seemingly against all odds did he not only run for the presidency but also won by what the media called a 'landslide victory'.This had led many to speculate on the possibility of Barack Obama being the biblical antichrist prophecied to appear during the end times in the book of revelations.Barack Obama is not only eloquent and very articulate in his speech,he seems to be able to hypnotize and woo massive crowds with his voice and emotional stirring slogans.It is not hard to see why some may consider him to be the antichrist when the whole world seems to be enchanted and amazed by him.However according to the bible,the antichrist is expected to rise out of the old Roman empire,the modern day European Union not the United states as many are tempted to think.The antichrist is to appear after major wars have devastated the planet and put the majority of the world population through untold anguish and misery.The antichrist is expected to perform signs and wonders that will seem to prove his superhuman powers,Obama has not even mastered the telepropmter yet.As global current events unfold it is important to sharpen our historical knowledge and build our biblical knowledge,the bible says if it were possible even the elect will be deceived.As christians we should always keep in mind apostle Paul`s advice to the ephesians "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places" (eph 6 10-11)
